More often than not, most of the time, the owner should merge some rooms into one single room for saving some spaces. Merging two rooms into one room can be hard thing to do since every rooms have its distinctive feature which cannot be combined.
A good example of which can perfectly merge two rooms into one room is seen in these pictures. The pictures are taken from a small apartment in Gothenburg, Sweden. The room is designed by Avhem. As you can see from the pictures, the designer is trying to merge the bedroom and the living room, which is a hard thing to do but not impossible. In fact, the room is quite charming and nice to look at. One definitely important design idea which we can learn from this design is the color selection. The room is dominated by white and grey which can adjust the brightness of the room well.
For a small apartment like this, selecting white for the main color of the room is a right decision since this color can make the room look bigger. On the other hand, since this rooms should work for bedroom and living room, you need to pick the right bed and the right sofa. One simple tip is try to select the small bed and a bigger sofa, as you see form the pictures. Having bigger sofa will allow you to accomodate more people without having to compromise your place to sleep since the sofa can also be a place for you to sleep. As a final touch for this one-room apartment, you need some windows to give the room a good natural lighting.
